Things I noticed on chromebook right out the box,
Ik it's refurbished so I wasn't expecting perfect quality.
It's a scratch on the screen but can tell a little when it's on
The touchscreen feedback is a lil slow and lags (could just be my wifi) the down arrow gets stuck and I have to force it up and above the up arrow It's a crack .
Where you plug the charger at the screws seem to be lose, I think it just the way it happens after use because I had one in school and it did the same thing.
The corners are beat up like it's been drop alot
It is a little dirty out the box, little particles and dust in the keyboard and screen.
Camera works okay and no cracks in it.
Has little scratches on the top but no big deal.
It goes into tablet mode without an issue for me.
- For the price and it's refurbished I say you get what you pay for
( keep charger on hand if planning to use for long hours on end)

This is a great chrome book for school. My daughter uses it in middle school because her iPad would not be compatible with some of their programs. The only downside is that one of the clips makes it a little hard to open fully into a tablet. The only reason it did not get five stars. Is that the company doesn’t respond very well to it being damaged and I paid for extra insurance that is supposed to cover any drops, spills, etc. and normal wear and tear. We only had it for one week when the clip started slipping and went through the process to open an insurance claim. It was denied with very little explanation.

I love this laptop, has amazing battery life and everything works fine but there is also few things which I dont like.

CONS:
- The updates stopped and if I want to get more I have to buy newer model
- "E" on keyboard is hard to press, looks like it was glued a bit
- You can forget about 1080 videos to play, no chance
- 720 if you want to play you need to install another app, it is very buggy
- Micro SD card is extremely slow when you want to transfer files to it
- Can`t expand memory with micro SD card (or maybe don`t know how)

CONS:
- Great battery (13% for 1 and a half hour of wifi and browsing internet, 6 hours watching movies)
- After OS update play store is available and you can install every android app
- Touchscreen is good
- Sound is good

I was very stressed because it says that it looks like new but I have so many scratches on the cover lid, it looks awful but let`s say that I could maybe cover that somehow.

For some basic usage it is amazing for this money.

The description shows it as being the latest model, but the one I received is 2017. It uses android 9 as the base, and can not be updated to anything newer. Although it does have the Google play store, most of the apps I use require android 10 or newer.

After much research and tinkering, I was able to find some older versions of the most critical apps that I need and was able to get them installed and running. As apps are frequently being updated as technology continues to advance, this chromebook is obsolete.

Over all, if you are looking for a cheap chromebook for surfing the web, it's ok. I would not recommend it for anyone who is looking to do anything that needs regular updates.

This information MUST be disclosed on Amazon's site as a routine for refurbished Chromebooks. But it not, or if it is, it's well hidden someplace. This being my first Chromebook ever, I was unaware of the issue and didn't even know that I should look up the expiration date.

Unreal I spent time signing it in setting it up and so on, now I need to figure out how to remove it from my account before the seller gets this garbage back and sells it again to some poor buyer. This OS 9 does not auto set up such as OS 10 so it takes time to set up all your accounts.

Despite how nice I find the hardware, as written above, I find the software inexcusably, irredeemably bad. I'd love if tech support would help me access uefi /bios*, so I may install some clean linux over the toxic garbageware now on it. Why waste such nice hardware?

*(whatever they want to call primary boot os.).

Bought this specifically to run either Google Home or a certain droid app, but Google Home won't work ('not compatible') with an expired Chrome OS, and the droid app I wanted to use wouldn't show up as an available download. Took me a while to figure out problem, will return for refund if I can. I don't have the expertise to hack the OS write protection and load a Linux OS, plus 1) Google Home won't work with Linux, and 2) Linux Droid emulators recommend minimum 8GB RAM, so what's the point for me to mod this 4GB system?
