Everything and more!
I’ve always had MacBook pros and my 2018 model recently became too hot to handle.. literally. It didn’t matter if I was working for hours or just 15 minutes sometimes.. it would start sounding like a jet engine ready for takeoff and the heat coming off of it could melt butter. Although I love the power of the pro, I didn’t want to spend the money and end up needing to buy another one eventually. I took a gamble and bought this MacBook Air and it outperforms my MacBook Pro in every way. I’m one of those weirdos that will miss the Touch Bar I had on my pro but I’m slowly getting used to using an “Esc” key again. That is my only qualm. The speed, display, being much lighter weight, the gorgeous blue color - I love it all! Did I mention I’ve used my MacBook for a full battery cycle in one sitting and it was still cool to the touch?! It was a miracle and truly defining moment for me. I definitely think the air is the way to go, at least for me, from now on. Keep making these M chips apple - intel has nothing on you!

Great shipping time, and care in transport.
MacBook Air came without any damage, and in a short amount of time. I love the color, but very prone to finger prints so I do have to wipe it down often, not terrible just something to keep in mind. Definitely recommend the newer chip for performance quality and brightness because it has helped mine a lot compared to my old one.

 I finally made the switch....
As a LONG TIME "normal" PC user I have wanted a Mac, but the price AND the fact that I could get so much "bang for the buck" with a standard PC, have encouraged me to choose a PC. Well, I finally made the switch.

The MacBook Air 13 M3 is a great laptop! I don't need a huge laptop! I appreciate that it's compact, lite, and very portable! The M3 chip is very capable! For me, the 512 SSD is absolutely sufficient! If I need more, linking a portable drive is not only inexpensive, but also super easy! The resolution is excellent! Yes, Apple has bigger, and more powerful laptops! Yes, they definitely come at a premium! However, they are far beyond handling my needs. This model handles all of my requirements, AND it's a Mac! To me that means that I have no worries that it will be handling my needs for years to come! I'm very pleased with my purchase!

Great laptop, too small for my workflow
Objectively speaking, the M3 16 gb ram w/ 512 storage is a 5-star computer all day, so I am giving 5-stars.

This is a great device, but everyone already knows that, so I am focusing on two big considerations that I had - specs and size. I am just a layperson who primarily uses this device for office work.

In sum, wish I could keep this one, but it's just too small. This size is will be great for many users. Further, I will not ever buy a base model (8/256), but many people would probably be fine with base model.

Specs-

I originally bought a base model M2 (8/256) but swapped it out for the M3 16/512. With a brand new base model M2, I was constantly using memory swap and in yellow memory pressure. This happened immediately and took almost nothing. In addition, I only had ~80 gb of memory left after MacOS, iMessage, etc. took up most of the space on my hard-drive. I spent 2 days trouble-shooting this issue with Apple - turns out my only real option was to spec up. I bought the base model thinking I would be okay since I use cloud based services for everything. I was wrong. For ME, the super savings on the base model are NOT worth it. The savings will be worth it for other people with different needs and preferences. (And, again, I am a just layperson w/ tech. Just trying to share my lay opinion from my experience. Take with grain of salt.)

Size-

I actually love the size of the 13-inch, but for my work use, the screen is just too small. I use this laptop for work and personal, but my workflow is the most important consideration. I tend to multitask and juggle multiple word processing documents, pdfs, excel spreadsheets, and internet browser tabs. I also use split screen. I just cannot see enough text at once when I review documents - this causes decreased productivity and a far less comfortable experience.

So, I have to size up to the 15-inch. If this was JUST a personal laptop, I would keep the 13-inch and absolutely love it.

Also, I went to a store and tested out both sizes before purchasing, but that did not help me. Unfortunately, I had to test drive with my actual workflow before I realized the 13-inch was insufficient for my needs.

Oh, one other thing. I love the midnight color. But all the fingerprint concerns are 100% legit (even with the M3, which I really did not notice the supposed improvement). I happen to find the beautiful color to be worth the fingerprints, but if that bothers you - do not buy midnight.

Good luck, everyone!

Worth the money
I considered purchasing a refurbished MacBook to try it out, but I am so happy I went with new instead. Honestly, the cost isn’t that much more and I have found that sometimes you need more current updates to run some programs. It is my first experience with a MacBook vs other brands and I don’t see me purchasing anything else in the future.
