There is no SD card slot on this unit and only one USB-A connector. Everything else is amazing for the price.
I immediately set a PIN required to access the computer once the lid is closed or it goes to sleep. By default, there is no security and anyone can access by opening the lid. I clicked on the time/wifi icon in the lower right and then on settings (the gear symbol). Then I searched for "Screen lock PIN" in the search screen for settings (at the top) or clicked on "Security and Privacy" and then "Screen lock and sign in". I enabled "Lock when sleeping or lid is closed" and set a PIN.

The new chromebook arrived today. This is my first use, so I can't speak to longevity. However, it's what i need for my browsing, online purchasing and for watching youtube videos about fixing stuff around my home. At work we used Lenovo. High end and great. Then we switched to Asus spin. Even better except the Lenovo felt sturdier.
This samsung replaced the Lenovo I purchased after feeling so impressed with the work Lenovo. Indeed, It lasted several years. The case cracked after dropping it, but it powered through. The nail in the coffin was a dip in a full bathtub. (Wish I could blame it on the kids...but it was my fault.)
I decided on this one because i never used the "table" mode or the touch screen. Thought i'd save money by passing on those features and instead having a bit fast processor.
This was is simple, clean and no frills. The screen is obviously not as nice as the Lenovo and It only has one chanrging "C" port, (the Lenovo had one on each side which was surprisingly handy.
This will serve me well with all my chrome functions. and it cost a third of the Lenovo. So I should expect that it won't be great. As it is, it's perfect my use....just not perfect for everyone.
If you are simply looking to get away from the a true laptop computer because you hate blotware and viruses and you enjoy the google apps, this is for you. I'm currently watching Jack Ryan on Amazon and the sound it great. We're in a time when we simply can't spend a ton of money...this was the right choice for me.

The field of view is pretty fixed to one angle and it is not even tangental to the screen. In other words, you need to tilt the screen further back in orther to see it right and if you move from there the image gets afected. I wish they would have invested a little more on the screen. Everything else is cool.

So I was enjoying this till I had to do all the updates to the OS. There's this thing called "Totes" with the OS. It used to be you could disable it, or turn off things on it you don't want to see. The most recent updates removed both of those functions. Anything I download will not have a giant image preview on the bottom right corner of my screen that takes up about 1/8 of the screen after every download, and it stays there for ~10+ seconds. Not sure why they did that, and I've been trying to deal with support on it for a while, but no one can seem to help.

My dissatisfaction with this Chromebook has more to do with my uninformed expectations than it does with any shortcomings in the actual product.
I was looking for a better tablet, something with a real keyboard that I could do my writing on. Problem is, I didn't appreciate that a Chromebook isn't really a standalone device, it's just a glorified web browser in laptop form. Sure, as long as I'm in Wi-Fi range of a public access point I can use Google Docs, but I wanted something I could use at the park or while out on the road. I also wanted to run LibreOffice, which you can't do on Chromebook, because, again, it's just a glorified web browser.
As to the actual device, I found the screen to be less than ideal. My Fire tablet has a much better screen; the Samsung screen comes off looking a bit blurry in comparison. The screen is not touch-sensitive, which didn't bother me, but the touchpad for cursor control doesn't have mouse buttons, and I had issues with the button-click emulation.
I did like the overall design -- simple and to the point. Overall, though, this isn't going to work for me; I'll see if someone in the family can use it. The next time I have the money, I'll look at either a low-end laptop or an Android device. I can only give this three stars.

This was a nice little Chromebook with a nice price, however I bought this to use at a university for classes and it would not let me sign into any account that was not strictly @gmail.com domain. It would not let me download anything either, I had to download and save into my google drive specifically and it took me about ten minutes just to figure out how to add a wallpaper background onto it and I was never able to get into the university account.
I have a Chromebook and I use it often, it works well, is easy to use, allows me to sign into university accounts, download things, etc. Chromebooks are cheap, good little computers, but I ended up returning this one because of the things listed above. I wouldn't recommend getting this Chromebook unless you yourself are strictly a google services user.
As a side note I did appreciate the costumer service on here as I was able to return this item without many problems.

I had an early model Chromebook ten years ago and liked the convenience of browsing the internet with it, which is about 75% of the time I use a home computer for anyway. It eventually reached the rather arbitrary "end of life" when Google stopped security software updates for it. There was no trade-in offered for it, so into the dumpster it went. I bought this more recent Samsung device, which has the added functionality of supporting Android apps, whoopee duh. But I was very disappointed to find that scrolling with a mouse using the Chrome web browser was crippled. The mouse wheel crawls, with no way to adjust it, and the problem doesn't exist in any other apps or the Chrome OS. If you try to use the scrollbar, it minimizes to nothing, and you have to fish around blindly for the few pixels that will grab it. From what I've read in forums, this problem has existed for years. Apparently Google thinks that since users can still scroll with the touchpad I should just get over it. Or another workaround is to download any other company's web browser from their app store; the scroll bar will still disappear but the mouse wheel functions normally. My solution was to go back to using an Asus Vivobook that runs Windows 10. If Google fixes the scrolling problem I might eventually return to using this Chromebook, otherwise I'll be tossing it out.

Chrome OS will probably dominate one day. That day is not today.
It still feels super clunky.
There isn't a good division / hybrid mode for apps designed for phones / tablets / chrome books.
Also, there isn't a good way to filter: apps slathered with advertisements, vs one time fee based, vs subscription based, vs free open source.
The security / developer mode handling is awful. Switching back and forth removes all user data.
The one cool thing: It can run linux apps.
It ends up making me wish it was just a linux laptop.
*The battery life is NOTHING like what is advertised. It's like any laptop.

This computer caught fire when placed on an armchair for a few minutes. It was plugged in and vent holes were not obstructed. The return process was cumbersome. One particular "Bruh" treated me poorly without reason. He was a manager and was acting like I was planning to sue which was not in the plan but how was he to know. I was not acting with hostility. Told him that I had pictures if he needed any documentation. 10 days later. Once the return was ok'd the Samsung plus representative was very careful to point out that the return was only for the damaged device. Guess these guys have been sued a number of times as they seemed paranoid. Once I got the the Samsung plus phone system in order to establish a preference on how I would be payed back I was transferred at least 10X over two days and two calls. I had two problems, one was that I did not have an account number. They gave it to me on the second day. The other was that I was locked out of my account and spent 45 minutes waiting and transferring without success. Finally my account timed up and reopened so I was able to use the act number they gave me...btw was the wrong number. She said it one way and repeated another and I repeated the one number that was different and she confirmed. When I went live on the website I used both numbers because the first was wrong. In addition, most all of the phone representatives do not listen when you tell them your problem. It's like they were on another planet when you tell them the problem. Was difficult to be polite to these people but I was.
